Melkweg is a non-profit music venue and cultural centre on the Lijnbaansgracht near Leidseplein, housed in a former dairy factory. It presents concerts, club nights, film, theatre and exhibitions across several rooms, from the large Max hall to the intimate Upstairs hall. Since opening in 1970 it has been one of Amsterdam's best-loved institutions for pop music and club culture.
